The 7MM is short for the caliber 7X57mm which is the 7x57mm Mauser Cartridge. When the Rolling Block was made in the late 1890's and early 1900's, the S.M stood for Spanish Mauser. The Spanish model 1893 mausers shot the 7x57mm round. the US was on the receiving end of that fine round in the Spanish-American war. At the time, the 7x57mm was known as the 7mm Spanish Mauser round.

Answer Model 12 what?Something is wrong with this question. The Winchester M#12 is a shotgun that was made in 12, 16, 20, & 28 guage. The only model 12 22 caliber that I know of was made by Remington. That firearm is slightly collectable, as such the condition of the firearm is everything. A model 12 Remington in new in box condition might bring $1000. If it is well used and looks that way, give it to kid he will thank you forever. A M# 12 Winchester is another story. Depending on the condition, model, and guage the value can range from $200 bucks to $20,000. If it is a like new firearm you should consult an expert.
NO - A capital M is the Roman number 1,000. To represent a million you use two "M's" . Example: $7 million is $7MM

The Remington Model 9 is a single shot shotgun manufactured during the period of 1902-1910. According to M. J. Kantor who worked for Remington Arms Service Division, in a letter dated December 23, 1969 stated that the total production on the Model 9 was about 200,000.
