Absolutely. Most people think of shot patterns in a 2-D view, where you want a "tighter" choke pattern meaning more pellets within a certain area. Those who do that are certainly mistaken, especially for bird hunters.
Shot patterns are most definitely a 3-D issue. While Patternmaster chokes don't necessarily give you the tighter pattern on a piece of paper, they concentrate the shot in a more dense package as far as depth is concerned. They work by slowing down the wad so the shot leaves the barrel in a tighter clump, therefore impacting the target with more pellets in a lesser time, therefore giving the shooter a harder impact and cleaner kills.
I hunt primarily upland game and waterfowl. The patternmaster has given me better results without doubts on Pheasant, duck, and goose.
hands down the best choke out there if anyone does their research.
A pattern of a shotgun is determined by the choke at the factory. Some models have a variable choke that makes the user able to change the pattern.
To focus the pattern of shot.
The Choke of a shotgun is the amount of barrel restriction at the muzzle end which affects the shot pattern. A full choke will keep the spray pattern of the pellets closer together farther out than if the barrel was not restricted at the muzzle. If there is no restriction at the muzzle, the choke is said to be cylinder choke or cylinder bore.
Invector is a brand not a choke. Invector is a brand not a choke.
They came in various barrel lengths and choke combinations. If it is not marked on the side of the barrel, you will have to pattern the shotgun to determine the choke
The correct answer is Super full.
A choke is a device placed on the end of a shotgun barrel that changes the pattern of the shot as it leaves the rifle.
from smallest pattern to largest: full improved modified modified improved cylinder cylinder (no choke)
There is a tool known as a choke gauge. It is a tapered length of metal that is placed in the bore, and measures the width of the muzzle. Or- shoot the shotgun, and determine how it patterns, Purpose of a choke is to to open or close a shot pattern- and proof is in what the gun does.
With standard chokes, Full Choke is the tightest. However, there are non-standard chokes for SOME shotguns (used by turkey hunters) that are Extra Full Choke.
A choke looks like a small tube that you screw in the mussel of some shotguns. It changes the pattern of BBS as they fly exc. a full choke will force the BBS into a smaller pattern than an improved cylinder. Hope this helps
the barrel is constricted at the end to make the pattern of shot flow density wider or tighter. Usually from cylinder up to full choke
