Yes, they called it their "Youth Model" a.k.a. Boy's Rifle.
It is entirely possible. In the 1970s, Daisy began making .22 Long Rifle FIREARMS- not BB guns, but actual firearms. At that time, K Mart was actively selling inexpensive rifles and shotguns. Today the Daisy .22 LR guns are fairly scarce- but there was a bolt action and a semiauto made- as well as the Daisy "caseless" .22 rifle.
No. Daisy has made about 14 different versions of the 1938. None were specifically made for the left handed person
The fastest rate of fire ever achieved from a conventional rimfire rifle with a single barrel is around 1200 rounds per minute. This was achieved using a modified Ruger 10/22 rifle.
I've gone through several air gun catalogues and have been unable to locate a Daisy model 170 bb gun that has ever been made. I did find a Daisy BB gun model 5170 and a BB rifle model 1170 along with a BB rifle model 107 but "NO" model 170. So here is what I suggest. Contact Daisy, They offer a service to evaluate older Daisy antiques for free. See the link below.
It is worth what ever the market will bear.
Ever hear the expression- "Lock, stock, and barrel"- meaning the whole thing? Originally, those were the main parts of a musket- later, a rifle. The lock is the firing part- today it might be called the action. The stock is the part you hold, and brace against your shoulder. The barrel contains the cartridge, and guides the bullet as it leaves the rifle.
The Winchester model 1894 rifle was never made with a vent rib barrel! the only Winchester made firearms with a vent rib barrel was Winchester shotguns.

Could be a lot of things, is this a pump, rolling block (single shot), need more details, barrel length, take down, etc.... Also it's often referred to as Octagon but it's not it's Hexagon, off hand I can think of no manufacturer that ever made a Octagon barrel.
