It depends on what you mean. 380 is the same as 9x17, but if you mean standard 9mm, that is 9x19. It's too long and too high pressure to use in a .380.

Can you shoot a 9mm bullet from a 380 handgun?

9mm and 380 both use bullets with a diameter of .355. But the answer to the question you're probably asking is, no, you cannot fire a 9mm parabellum cartridge from a .380 handgun. The 9mm cartridge is different than the .380 cartridge. Even though both are 9mm in diameter, the overall cartridge lengths are different.

Can you use a 9mm magazine with a 380 handgun?

Usually not. The 9mm Parabellum catridge is longer than the .380, as a result, a 9mm magazine is also bigger, and the magazine will not fit in the .380 magazine well.

Can a 380 caliber clip be used in a 9 mm handgun?

No. Generally speaking, you can only use the correct caliber magazine for any given handgun, and .380 and 9mm are not interchangeable.

Can a 9mm be fired from a 380 rated handgun?

NO!! Although the bullet diameter is the same, the case length is different and should not chamber in the 380 caliber handgun.

Can you fire a 380 in a 9mm handgun?

Depends. .380 ACP is used to refer to the 9x17 cartridge. It is not interchangeable for use in 9x18 (9mm Makarov), 9x19 (9mm Parabellum/Luger), or any other firearm designed for any cartridge other than the .380 ACP/9x17 cartridge.

Can a 9mm bullet work in a .380 gun?

9mm and 380 both use bullets with a diameter of .355. However, the cases are a different size. .380 is also known as .380 auto, 9mm Kurtz, 9mm Corto, 9mm short or 9x17. 9mm typically refers to 9x19mm also known as 9mm Parabellum or 9mm Luger. You cannot fire a 9mm Parabellum cartridge from a .380 handgun. The 9mm cartridge will not fit into the chamber of the gun. However, if you were to pull the bullet out of the .380 case and put it into a 9mm Para case the resulting cartridge will work just fine.

How powerful is a 380 handgun?

The .380 typically has 200-230 pounds of muzzle energy, which is about half the power of a typical 9mm.

Can a 380 use 9MM bullets?

380 and 9mm projectiles are .355 in diameter _________________________ Most of the time, when people use the term 9mm, they are referring to a 9mm parabellum. A 9mm parabellum cannot be fired from a .380. The 9mm cartridge is longer. _________________________ The BULLET is the part of the cartridge that is the projectile. While 9mm parabellum and .380 ACP use the same diameter bullets, the CARTRIDGES are not interchangeable.

Handgun intratec cat-9 380?

Intratec CAT-9 is a 9mm Parabellum/Luger (9x19) semi auto pistol. Intratec CAT-380 was made in .380 ACP/9mm Kurz (9x17). Intratec went out of business in 2001

Can you use a 9mm in a 380 or a 380 in a 9mm?

Assuming you're referring to the 9x19mm (also known as the 9mm Parabellum or 9mm Luger) and the .380 ACP (also known as the 9x17mm, 9mm Short, and 9mm Kurz), the answer is no on both counts, and it would be extremely dangerous to try this.

Can you use 9mm in a 380?

It depends on what you mean. 380 is the same as 9x17, but if you mean standard 9mm, that is 9x19. It's too long and too high pressure to use in a .380.

Can a 380 hi point handgun shoot a 9mm bullet?

It depends on what you mean exactly. 380 is a bullet that is 9mm in diameter, but it is not the same as what most people mean when they say 9mm. Usually, at least in the U.S. the term 9mm refers to 9mm para which is 9x19. A 380 cartridge is 9x17, so it is shorter. It may be possible to fire a 9x19 cartridge out of a 380 gun, but it is a bad idea because it is too long, and because it is a much higher pressure cartridge.
