A) He adjusted to the water's temperature, and it no longer seemed surprisingly cold. If everyday, someone pops out from the exact same corner, and shouts, "BOO!" The element of surprise is lost after a few days. The coldness was lost after a few minutes.
B) Someone turned up the heater in the pool.
C) The temp. really warmed, not from the heater, but the sun.
