Balance. Your water NEEDS PH in between 7.2ph and 7.8ph so it will not damage your equipment (anything metal that your water will touch, such as rails, ladders, heat exchanger in heater, copper piping, etc. ALSO - it helps in allowing OTHER chemicals to perform.
Just remember - your water will do 3 things: if it has too much of anything, it will leave deposits everywhere. If it doesn't have proper PH, it will destroy metals to try to "grab" it from there. Thirdly? If its perfectly balanced, it will not leave scaling and calcium deposits, and it will not eat away at your plaster or metal equipment to feed itself minerals.
Reduces alkalinity of swimming pool water (softens hard water)
The purpose of a swimming pool heat pump is to rise the temperature of the water. The pool then can be used for swimming even on days when the weather is not perfect. The swimming pool season is extended.
Sodium Bisulphate is dry acid for swimming pool use.
It lowers PH
Turn the pool upside-down and knock on the bottom.

Most likely not.
Muriatic Acid
rain and acid wash
Pool acid typically refers to muriatic acid, which is a common acid used to lower the pH levels in swimming pools. The main ingredient is hydrochloric acid. It is important to handle muriatic acid with care as it is highly corrosive and should be diluted before adding it to the pool water.
Muriatic acid
Usually you would add muriatic acid to adjust the pools acid level.
