Reverse rotation water pumps turn in the oposite direction of the crankshaft and are typically used with surpentine belts. The back (smooth) side of the belt is routed around the water pump pulley, thereby rotating it in the oposite direction of the crankshaft.Standard rotation water pumps turn in the same direction as the crankshaft and are typically used with V-Belts.Turning a water pump in the wrong direction will cause overheating.
A deep well submersible pump can be simply placed into a shallow well and it will work. These pumps actually pump water directly and do not rely on suction. Simply cut your tube to desired length and place the deep pump in the shallow well. -NOTE- this does NOT work the other way - a shallow or jet pump is just that and can never work in a deep well.
A deep well water pump is installed by mounting it in a weather resistant housing next to the well and running power to it. The hoses can then attached to either side of the pump and the pump tested for efficiency.
the water pump is part of the timing belt or chain. you have to take the belt or chain off to change the water pump. if you change the water pump, change the belt too.
