The best thing to do is to locate the manufacturer on the filter. Sometimes the amount of sand is listed right on the filter next to this name. If it is not, you need to contact the manufacturer as all filters are somewhat different. An average would be 200-250 pounds.

About two bags per square foot.
24 foot round pool would be 24 feet across from the middle of the pool basically measure the diameter of the pool.
It depends on how big the filter is. 18" or 24" If it is a 18" three 50 lb bag will do. I believe with the 24" it is 4 to 5 bags. I have a 19" and used 3 bags.
Possibly. But have you checked the chemical levels 1st - chlor, pH, Total alkalinity? Are you running the filter/pump long enough? Run 24/7 until pool is very clear then cut back to about 8 to 10 hrs.
Cannot be answered with only these measurements. You need to specify what shape the pool is. Also, for a rectangular pool, the length, width and depth are needed. For a round pool, the diameter and depth are needed.

The weight of sand can vary depending on its composition, but on average, dry sand weighs about 100-120 pounds per cubic foot. Therefore, 24 gallons of sand would weigh approximately 200-240 pounds.
