Yes, I know some friends with an inground swimming pool and they have had it for quit some time now. I am pretty sure that they last more than an above ground.

Hard to say how long the wall will last as the pool you describe was never intended for inground installation. ******PLEASE BE SURE to install a fence around the swimming pool according to your local code for swimming pools.
