this works only on marcite pools, lower pH first to 7.0 then lower chlorine to 0 ppm , shut off pump, springle citric acid about 4 lbs, let it settle to the bottom, let it sit 24 hrs with no movement, then turn on pump, shock with 1 gal chlorine and let it run 12 hrs then shock again 1 gal and brush away citric acid. Also bring your pH up slowly. This should elminate staining then be sure to use a metal out for future use.

Metal stains on the marcite are caused either by rebar or some other form of iron. Well water often creates this problem because of a high iron content, and a pool heater can also be the cause. Use of a sequestering agent, available at any pool supply store (Adcock, Leslie's, etc.), can solve the well water problem. The rebar problem generally means it is time for new marcite or, perhaps, fiberglass. If a heater is involved, contact a pool service company and have them check the header and impellers. If they're iron, they will need tp be switched out.

Why are stains so difficult to remove from combed cotton?

Stains on combed cotton can be difficult to remove because combed cotton fabric tends to have a smooth and tightly woven surface, making it harder for stains to penetrate deep into the fibers. This can cause stains to sit on the surface, making them more stubborn to remove. Additionally, certain types of stains, such as oil-based stains, can adhere more strongly to combed cotton fabric, requiring specific cleaning methods to effectively remove them.

How do you remove a denim stain from a white vinyl handbag?

I've used Goo Gone to remove stains from vinyl bags before. I would test it on an inconspicuous area first to make sure it doesn't harm the finish. I used it mostly to remove surface stains and dirt, so if your stain is deep into the vinyl it might not work as well.

How can you remove stains from wood chips in a salt system pool?

My experience is that the stains will go away by themselves, through the effects of the chlorination of the water. Does not matter if the pool is a salt pool or fresh water pool. If the pool has a plaster finish, brushing the stains with a wire pool brush will speed up the process.
