Sting
Ants sting rather than bite. The common black garden ant in the UK doesn't sting people, but they do have ants that will. These include wood ants and flying ants. Another ant in Britain that stings people is the red ant.
Some ants sting, but there are thousands of species that do and don't sting. Most "stinging" ants actually bite, although some ants have a stinger as well. Nearly all red ants sting (or bite). Some other black ants sting, but it is hard for the average person to tell between them.
In a conflict between black ants and red ants, the outcome would likely depend on various factors such as the species of ants, their respective numbers, and the environment they are in. Generally, ants of different colors are not inherently more aggressive or dominant than one another.
their are black ants ,red ants ,flying ants
they dont sting, they bite.
All ants bite or nip if you like with their mandibles which are capable of delivering a poison. Personal experiences: Yes, it is true. My wife was bitten by a common black ant and I white pimple appeared with some redness. I never thought that they would bite because I have neven been bitten by a common black ant. A red ant, absolutely. The Texas red ant which is huge, has bitten me and it really did sting and hurt. My ankle swelled up. Over a few days, the swelling disappeared and all was well.
flying ants...different kinds of ant fly..reproductive male ants and female ants fly. The ants swarm and mate in the air. The males then die and the females go in search of a place to set up their own colonies. The loose their wings and then go underground. They lay their eggs and a new colony has begun. If they sting then they would be a variety of the fire (red) ants.
You can start by sealing any entry points they may be using to get into your home. Clean up any food sources that may be attracting them, and consider using ant baits or insecticides specifically targeting ants to help control the population. If the problem persists, you may want to contact a pest control professional for further assistance.
Could be a velvet ant, these are not ants they are wingless female wasps and can give out a bad sting so dont handle them.
Flying black ants are typically reproductive males and females that leave the nest in swarms to mate and establish new colonies. Once they mate, the males usually die, while the fertilized females (queens) find a suitable location to start a new colony. It's a natural behavior during the ant's life cycle.
To protect themselves from the enemies. Just like how lions have claws used for scratching or holding down the animal. If you stepped somewhere where there's lots of plants they'll sting you cause you're a danger to them.
