Notch is provided in the specimen for a charpy impace test because it helps measure the brittle fracture. It also helps stimulate the condition.
we need to top it off a notch

1) The test notches for the impact specimens for the tests have different dimensions. The Izod test is a V-notch; the Charpy test has three different specimen types: Key-hole, U-notch, and V-notch. However, other specimen types may be specified as required for both tests.2) The specimens are held differently. The Izod specimen is held in a cantilevered manner; the Charpy test is held such that the specimen rests against two supports on either side of the test notch.3) The impact location is different. The Izod test impact is against the end of the exposed cantilever; the Charpy test is struck directly behind the test notch such that the specimen undergoes three point bending.4) The test specimens have different dimensions. The basic Izod test specimen is 75 x 10 x 10mm (2.95" x 0.394" x 0.394"); the basic Charpy test specimen is 55 x 10 x 10mm (2.165" x 0.394" x 0.394")It's really a stretch to give 4 points of difference, particularly as these tests may be altered as required depending on the material performance characteristic being investigated.Source(s):Degarmo, E. To read the Word of Notch. That's all I know its for.
A stained specimen slide typically requires more light than an unstained live specimen slide. This is because the staining process can reduce the transparency of the specimen, making it harder for light to pass through and creating a need for more illumination to visualize details.
So that the content of the container and any tests performed on it can be related back to the patient form which the specimen was taken.

Focusing a specimen under low power objective (LPO) allows you to find and center the specimen on the slide before moving to higher magnifications. This ensures that the sample is in the field of view and helps in adjusting the focus and moving to higher magnifications without losing sight of the specimen.
Put the specimen in the bottle.I brought back a specimen of English money. They put the bullet in a specimen bag.
When using a specimen microscope, it is important to bring the specimen into focus by adjusting the focus knob until the specimen appears clear and sharp under the objective lens. You may also need to adjust the light intensity and diaphragm to enhance the contrast and visibility of the specimen. Additionally, ensure that the slide is clean and free of any debris that may obstruct the view.
