First off, there are a couple fairy Islands in wind waker. They are all shaped like hearts, and you need to do different things to get inside them. One of the islands that I can remember right now is just north of Tingle's Island, and it gives you a rupee sack upgrade, allowing you to hold 1,000 rupees instead of just 200. not sure what you need to do to get into this island, though. Another rupee sack upgrade is on your hometown island, but you need bombs to get into it. I hope this helps you, recommend me if it did. (posted by Darke, member of WikiAnswers since 4/29/08)
use the Ballad of gates to go to dragon roost island. then use the song of passing to go to night. then sail south until you see fire. then shoot it with your ice arrows. you will be timed so hurry up and get the power bracelets. then sail south for a while and eventually you will see an island that is covered in ice and shoot it with your fire arrow. again you will be timed. go inside and defeat everything until you get to the iron boots. Also if this wasn't helpful enough go to Google and type in the legend of Zelda wind waker walkthrough.it will help too.
The Great Fairy can be found in the Cave of Ordeals, it is almost like a dungeon in and of itself, but really it's not. You have to go through over 49 levels fighting every evil creature you have encountered, a tip: you have to have every single weapon to defeat this cave!
Once you beat them all, you'll find the Great Fairy on the fiftieth floor in a fountain, she'll give you another bottle (and if you're an expert player that means you'll have 5 bottles) full of Great Fairy Tears. Sweet!
Hope this helps.
I will list them by there coordinates and names here: (A3) Western Fairy Island, (B2) *Mother and Child Isles, (C1) Northern Fairy Island, (D6) Southern Fairy Island, (E3) Eastern Fairy Island. *Mother and Child Islands is home to the Queen of Fairy's.
