You do not have to "go" anywere. If you know the codes, all you need to do is make sure you enter them correctly by writing the right code. For example, if you want ammo for all guns in the game, you simply load your file and starts playing and write "guns guns guns" (withouth the citation marks). Since the "s"-key is bound to walking backwards by default, your character will probably move a tiny bit backwards when entering the cheat, mind you.
