If you notice in the game, there is a hole in the ceiling of the Temple of Light, at the very top, it's common sense to know that at noon to 1 pm is when the sun is highest in the sky so that is the time when you can go back to donate in order to gain experience and other bonuses. You know when it is noon when you click the Start button on the remote and you can see the time in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
How do you donate to the Temple of Light and what are its benefits?
Donating 10,000 to the Temple of Light at noon will remove all of the scars your character has received during gameplay from getting knocked out. It will also give you experience and good and purity points.

If you have been to the Spire, you can't. Before the Spire, you can do Defender of the Light or Oakfield Massacre. If you do Oakfield Massacre or don't do either, the Temple of Light is destroyed. If you do Defender of the Light, then The Temple of light is saved and the temple of shadows is destroyed.
