TBA 2013. Although, there is an official Japanese release date revealed: November 8th. I have come up with a theory for Nintendo 3DS games' release dates. For Animal Crossing 3DS, it looks like it could follow the Wild World pattern. A November release date in Japan, a March release date in Europe. This is just a hypothetical though.
Animal Crossing 3DS has been in production for a long time! They're just finishing the basic foundations of the games - but then there's finishing touches, advertising, regional localization, etc.
Also Nintendo has committed to regularly bring 3DS games out, and not having gaps where 3DS games won't be released for months, but then loads come along for the holiday season.
Come the E3 2011, I think Animal Crossing will be there and able to demo, but won't be released then.
The earliest time of release is an autumn release this year - but that's unlikely.
Possibly in the Holiday Season (Nov.-Feb.)

But the game will be definitely out before E3 2012.
Either way, this game is gonna be awesome! ;)

Animal Crossing: New Leaf for Nintendo 3DS was released in the US on June 9, 2013 and in Europe on June 14, 2013. It was released in Japan in November of 2012.
