FNaF 3 is Five Nights at Freddy's 3, third game in the survival Horror series. Set in either 2015 or 2017, the player once again takes the role of a security guard, this time watching over a museum called Fazbear's Fright, a place built to showcase the macabre events (though believed to be urban legends) that occured at the Freddy Fazbear franchises.

Unlike the previous games, the player is protecting himself against a single animatronic this time, called Springtrap - a wearable animatronic suit known to malfunction in an horrific manner, crushing the occupant. Springtrap has an aged and rotting look to it, and in some scenes it is clear there is a blood-covered human skull inside, the remains of an unfortunate occupant. Gameplay involves keeping track of Springtrap's movements, rebooting the building's failing systems with which you observe and distract him. You are hampered by hallucinations, 'phantom' versions of the series' older animatronics will haunt you, causing hearing and vision loss, and system errors.

A series of cryptic 8-bit minigames delve into Springtrap's possible origin, involve the child killer 'Purple Guy' who appears in FNaF2, and make available a 'good' ending where the ghosts of the past are finally laid to rest.
