When I started playing, I promised myself that I would not give in to the pressure of all of the other gamers telling me to subscribe/buy crowns. Eventually, I did. I spent ten dollars on crowns. Now that I know now much crowns (and getting new quests and areas) can effect the way I play, I am going to subscribe. If you know that you will play often and want to be at a level higher faster, then you should subscribe. If you want to eventually stop playing without being a level 32 wizard, you can buy enough crowns to go to Krokotopia (Which will most likely be a not-too-large-but-still-a-not-small-amount of money).
Since I know I can play often, and will continue to play for an extended amount of time (I'm not just going to give up on my character), I believe that subscribing is the best option for my family (my family plays with me). For you, buying crowns and subscribing for a month may work out better than subscribing for a year, since you can try it out and see if you like it.
You go to the wizard101 website, type in your username and password then click buy crowns and then you can buy a membership.

no you can either buy crowns or get a subscription witch you can pay monthly for.
No way such a code exists, you cannot get crowns every day, you need to buy them.
You have to either have a subscription or buy the area with crowns
