What is a "Final Mix?"
Final Mix titles of the Kingdom Hearts series are Japan-exclusive titles that are improved and include additional content not available in other regions. These additions include boss battles, Worlds, Keyblades and much more. Final Mix titles also include a longer and/or more informative secret video, such as the Deep Dive/Another Side, Another Story special video that can be unlocked at the end of Kingdom Hearts Final Mix.
Why are Final Mixes made?
Kingdom Hearts titles are released in Japan months before they are released in other regions. When a game is being translated for the North American release, content is usually added. This means that North America might have smoother graphics or added content. To even this region-exclusion out, Japan creates a Final Mix. Final Mix games are the last edited versions of a specific title, and include even more content than in the NA release.
How many Kingdom Hearts Final Mix titles are available?
There are three Final Mix titles as of now. These titles are Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix+,and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix. All of which are Japan-exclusive.
Kingdom Hearts Final Mix is another version of Kingdom hearts where the writing is Japanese, but the voices are in English. Kingdom Hearts Final Mix also has more bosses and other stuff than Kingdom Hearts.It seems to only be in Japan and a different game by that, so you'll have to import a Japanese ps2 along with KH final mix.
