Cod is a type of fish that is edible, so I don't see why it would be considered bad for kids, unless it's raw.
But I think you're talking about "Call of Duty", the video game franchise. Overall, I'd say it doesn't glorify violence. Whether or not it's suitable for kids is completely up to their maturity and parental guidance, but the claims of it glorifying violence is false in my eyes. They are all at least moderately violent games, but they are made with the intent to provide a vision on futuristic or past warfare, with historical education in some entries like Call of Duty WWII and World at War.
So, overall, I'd say that its suitability for children is ultimately up to parents and guardians and that the series doesn't glorify violence and instead wants to provide its players with a realistic portrayal of modern, futuristic and past violence and wars. Some entries will perhaps even spread awareness about current violence in the world.
