You can not. Call of Duty Zombies is not an Online style of game. It is either a PC or a console game titled Call of Duty Black Ops or Call of Duty World At War. There is also a iPhone version of the game. The game must be purchased and for many of the zombie maps you must also purchase the DLC for the Zombie Map.
Many players of the game Fortress 2 dislike the game play of Call of Duty because of the story line and the plots of the COD series.
Yes just log on to Xbox live. LOL No you can not put a Xbox 360 game in your PC or MAC and play it. You can not go on Xbox live to play them. The game discs do not work in other platforms and they can not play against each other because they are different. The PC games can not play the Mac games either. The game title is not what is important, a game is must be designed for the device that is using it.

No each of the Call of Duty games follow a unique story line and do not need to be played in order to understand the story or characters. But if I had to recommend your first Call of Duty game I would say play Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare.
Call of Duty provides a strong single player campaign mode as well as both local and on-line multiplayer modes over Xbox Live or Playstation 3 Network.
