You may like much smaller maps with no vehicles. Battlefield 3 does have a bunch of close quarters maps for those people who like smaller maps now with the release of Close Quarters though. Battlefield 3 tries to be as realistic as possible, whereas you may like unrealistic games. It is all a matter of opinion.
