Warning: Make sure what kind of minecraft texture pack you have, because some requires things like HD patcher.
First, you choose your texture pack. Choose your style, but if you don't want to install HD patcher and confusing things, 16x16 texture pack is recommended. Then go toe "%appdata%, go to roaming and go to "texturepack" folder. Drag the texture pack to the folder. Thats it! I hope this help you! :D
Recomended 32x32 texture pack: Dokucraft, Johnsmith
16x16: mini dokucraft
first you have to find the pack you want (lots of great ones can be found over on planetminecraft.com ) then you download it (if it is an adf.ly link wait 5 seconds and click skip at the top right corner) once downloaded it will be in your downloads folder (on windows) unless you specified otherwise to install it you shold drag the .zip file into you texture packs folder (which can be found by clicking "texturepacks" and then "open texurepacks folder" from the main menu)
INPORTANT: if the pack as a resolution over 16x you MUST have your minecraft patched (MCpatcher) or use the optifine mod if you need help with this or any of the above info there are alot of great tutorials on YouTube (its not as bad as it sounds)

Scroll down and click on "Texture packs."
For HD texture packs (over 16x16 in resolution), you have to use either MCPatcher or OptiFine in order for the textures to work and animate correctly.
