It all depends if you have the right plane in which to hover. if its an aircraft like the f-35 (stovl) or the harrier jump jet, deploy full flaps then take 1 flap away, full power and your off!! to land, drop speed, full flaps (gradually) then land! if your talking about airliners. go into weather, add maximum wind, face aircraft into wind and pull up (adjust speed on your preference) hope this helps!
