WARNING: You do not want to immigrate in Animal Crossing unless you want to give up your life. Immigration in Animal Crossing is when one player gives their character to another. No, you will NOT be able to move to a friends town and still play as that person. All your items in storage will be removed and perished forever. Not recommended at ALL unless you hate your character and want a new one while you friend wants yours.
If you want to move to a town, the town that you are moving to has to click on immigration and then you have to go to your town hall and say you are moving. When you move all the objects you have in your house will disappear (unless someone else is living in your house), all the money in your bank will disappear, your catalog will be cleared and you have to work for nook again.
Immigration mode is found in the town hall.
Talk to Pelly (or Phyllis, if it's nighttime), in front of the counter with a little blue house on it. She will give you several options, including 'Moving'. This is immigration mode. You can move to a different town on another game card, or you can transfer your character to the Wii (if you have Animal Crossing City Folk.).
I hope this helped!
immigration is your character moving to another game card.
