How do you defeat crawler on Final Fantasy X?

Get Tidus to use Haste on both guys and then just whack it down. Use Wakka's Lightening Reels (the yellow ones) and heal when you're dying. Be sure to make your next action a hit when the machine is getting ready to do its mine thing.

Get all of your characters overdrive up and your aeons to.

Buy tons of hi potions, you'll need it.

Bring out rikku, auron, and wakka. Use rikku's overdrive, mix, combine an electric marble, or anything involving electricity because that's its weakness, and a grenade to make thunderbolt. it should take out the negator and deal some damage to the crawler. If you use wakka, then keep attacking the negator with an electric ball if you can. Switch wakka with yuna, then bring out Ixion. Use ixion's overdrive, and hope that you don't get killed by mana beam. there are other ways to not get killed by it, but i don't know yet so just hope. if you do get killed, bring out ifrit and repeat the process. do the same with valefor. if the negator doesn't come back after all that damage, use grenades till it comes back. therefor, the crawler can't use mana beam. you can use rikku for only 2 grenades, but keep the negator alive! bring out auron, kamari, and tidus. keep hitting the crawler with auron's thunder sword, and kamaris hunter's spear. tidus will be used to heal, and for cheer, and his overdrive. lancet will e use full for kamari in tight situations. keep an eye on the order of turns on the right of the screen.
