this is for manual installation, some mods come with installers
you could always just use an installer, MCPatcher works well
manual installation:
go to your .minecraft folder either by:
- go to Run and type %appdata% and press enter
- OR open Minecraft and before you log in click Options and click the hyperlink to Game location on disk
once in .minecraft open the bin folder and open minecraft.jar using an archive manager
open the mod file using an archive manager and drag all the files from the mod file to minecraft.jar
open Minecraft, if you get a black screen then either you haven't installed it correctly or if you have installed multiple mods, then they are incompatible with each other
You can change your minecraft clothes if you change your skin or download a mod.
Horses can only be found in Minecraft through a mod(Mo' creatures), so you can edit the mod's settings to adjust the horse limit.
It is currently impossible to change a villager's profession in minecraft without an external mod, or program.
