How do you change the colour of carpet on sims 3?

Well you really cant change the color that you want you just have to go with the colors that they have put on the household items but i list end that there is this body shop thing and you can create anything but not just everything but i mean create new clothes lipstick hairstyles and your own body type but there is know way of how to change the household stuff no way!!my sister loves The Sims 3 we have all the sim games we play them all the time we have 5 computers and only three people in our house in real life.I'm not really sure about this but if you have these 2 if you have the Sims 2 glamour life of family fun stuff maybe you can change colors on that but i know is the easy way is to use this cheat on your sims game type in this cheat but first to bring up the cheat box is to do this press in:ctrl then shift the c but make sure you press all these buttons at the same time otherwise it wont work so here is the cheat type in:boolProptestingCheatsEnabledtrue that is the cheat but do it the same as i did then a hudge box will come up when the box shows up hold down shift then and another box should come up type in this to change colors Sims2rainbowColorstoHousehold then press enter again then the hudge box should stay and then hold down shift and left click on a thing in your house on the sims left click on anything but here is some ideas like beds couches fridges micorwaves stoves TVs and then a rainbow box should show up and there is a meter and it has all colors in the rainbow and all the colors in the world maybe and then just click on the color you want and there you go and i don't lie if this does not work then that means you don't have the right expreshion pack because this is not on alot of stuff packs but they have it on the sims 3 but they don't sell the sims 3 every were but hope this helps love,Brooke and Nicole

I don't know what they're talking about above. To change the colour or texture of ANY item (household items, furniture, walls, floors, cars, etc) to something else, simply go into buy or build mode, click on the icon that looks like a paint brush and palette. When you go to this mode you can change the colour, or even the type of texture to anything you want (ie, to metal, wood, fabric, etc). Select from the list of textures and patterns they have, and then even change those. The choices are endless!

When you enter Build/buy mode there will be a small paint palette icon

when you click on that, click on the carpet you wish to change the color of

it will then bring up a menu of various patterns for you to choose from, and when you are finished simply click on the check mark and your carpet color will be changed.

In Sims 2 PC you can... you just press F2 and then if you see a little notepad of some sorts, click it then click what you want to change colors on. I hope that was what yo were asking...

No you can not. I don't really think it makes a difference with your Sim. The only thing I know of to change is traits.
