maybe because u have the wrong charger..lol
That was a stupid answer. you basicly said this guys a moron. Microsoft has already admited there is a problem with the wireless headsets as far as charging them and syncing them. some happen slowly over time, some fast and some dont right out of the box. my guess with those are theres some sort of usb power issue conflicting with the headset and wont let it charge. you can try to get Microsoft to get you a new one that may work. you can see if it charges on someone elses 360. or buy a new one. right now safest thing is to buy a wired headset. I think its the new ones because I had 2 one a few weeks ago and 1 today. The first one I turned my xbox off the next day it didnt work. The 2nd one wasnt working after i just opened it. My last one worked through a year and I broke it but my friends is still working.
The Xbox 360 wireless headset automatically charges through the USB on your 360 weather it's on or not. The play-and-charge kit for your wireless controller, however, only charges while the Xbox is on.

The wired headset isn't charged like the wireless. Instead it gets power directly from the controller it is plugged into. When unplugged it doesn't hold a charge.
You can get a wireless headset for the Xbox 360,it comes with a microphone perfect for communicating with your halo buddies.
The range for the wireless headset is about 30 ft, which should be adequate for the needs of most gamers.
