This is confusing because it's obvious that she has feelings towards him and that he feels the need to protect but 'Love' I am not quiet sure.
He has been working without his teammate for sometime now and I can't tell whether he's just been alone for so long that he reaches out for anything similar to human beings or he actually does care for her in that way.
Sorry for long post but I cannot confirm or deny it.
