You could play PSN on a PS3 while an Xbox 360 was connected to the same internet in your house just as easy as a person next door could be on cable playing there PS3 or Xbox 360, while you are on cable playing your device. The PS3 can not be on Xbox live and the PSN is not available for the Xbox 360
