It only is the files to add Pets to your Sims 2 game. unfortunately you are going to have to purchase the Sims 2 also before you can ply your game. if you want to get it cheaper, I would suggest buying it off of eBay You could even borrow it from a friend and install it, because once you install it, you can install Sims 2 Pets and just run the game off the Pets CD.You don't really have to buy the game. The sims 2 pets doesn't have a body shop for the pets you will have to use just the sims 2 body shop originally if you want new coats for your animals/pets go to thesims2.com and download them for free or regsister for more items or you can go on sims 2 (play it) and go to create a family and make a new breed of dog/cat it is not that hard turst me I hope this helps
