Buluc Chabtan was the Mayan God of War. People prayed for him for success in war, to avoid sudden death. (You don't want to be on his bad side.) He is also known as the god of human sacrifices. He is often presented by the company of Ah Puch, which represents a real danger for the Mayan faithful.

His figure appears in Mayan art as a thick black line around his eyes and check.
