that is very, very bad news, especially if you have a lot of custom content.
if it's crashing your game it means you downloaded a bad file, it could be corrupt or missing elements and it can cause your game to crash. what you need to do is either take out all of your custom content or do this:
i've had this problem before too, and this is what I had to do.
I created a folder on my desktop, it doesn't need to be named anything special.
then I would move 100 files or so from my sims 2 downloads file and put them into this newly created folder. then I would run my game and if it still crashed then I would add another 100.
eventually, you will find the file(s) that's causing the crash and you can then delete them and return all the files back into your downloads folder. it's a long and painful process
it means what you downloaded wasn't packaged right, or has other problems and is causing your game to crash, the only solution is to delete the custom content that is causing the crash.
custom content is legal for the sims 3 and any other game, unless it breaks copyright laws
it means that what you downloaded is crashing your game. hopefully you know what file it is that you put in your folder, if not then you have to search through them to find the one that's crashing your game. it happened to me once and i had to search through 5000 downloads.
After you have downloaded more than your computer has room for, the custom content will start deleting parts of your game to fit the content. IT CAUSES YOUR COMPUTER TO CRASH!!! I would know, it happened to me. :(
You can use one of two ways: Since Custom Content downloaded from The Sims Exchange is in the proper file format, you can just double-click on the file after it has been downloaded to your computer. The Sims 2 Package Installer will then pop up and allow you the option to quit or automatically install the custom content. Or: After downloading Custom Content, you must place the file in the Download folder under My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2. If there isn't a Download folder there, then you can create one. Make sure you spell it right, or it won't work. After you have done ONE of the above options, you must: Then enter the game and go to the Game Options menu under Options and choose the option to allow Custom Content to be used in the game. After that, you must restart the game. You will know which objects are Custom Content objects by the large Star icon in the bottom right hand corner of the objects' thumbnail picture in the game.
From the main menu go to custom games, and from there you can play any custom map or game type.
www.xmsims.com is a custom content website which creates custom content for The Sims 2 for PC, which can be downlaoded and used in your game for free. Instructions on how to do so will be on their site. P.S Their hair is brilliant (Y)
You may not have enough free memory. Restart the computer. Defragment the hard drive. Clear the cache on your internet browser. Clear your internet history. Clear your cookies. You may have a bad hacked object if you downloaded custom content into your game. Save your game often if it crashes a lot! Buy more memory.
You might have a lot of custom content installed. I do, it takes my game about 15 minutes to load.
Mod the Sims is not a game. It is a website that has a lot of custom-made content that you can download and use in your game...Furniture, clothes, hairstyles and so much more.
Runescape isn't a game that has an official end. The game creators are always developing new content.
You can not replace Ava's lipstick, as that would involve downloading Custom Content, which you can not do with the DS game.
