Go on line to xboxguru.com and see if they have a replacement drive. The average 50 to 75 bucks.

You can use a hard drive from a laptop, but a normal size computer hard drive will not fit. I"m not sure how to install or format the drive, but do an internet search on "PS3 forums" and you will find the official PS3 forums. Go digging there and you will find how to get this done.
The PlayStation 3 has a built in Hard Drive. Ps3 game saves will be saved to the Hard Drive. But to save PlayStation 1 + 2 games, an internal mermory card must be created inside the Hard Drive. PS1 + PS2 games will save there. So no you don't need a memory card for the PlayStation 3.
