There is a glitch in the game that when you try to evolve aPokemonwith a 10 character nickname (Or normal name, like Charmander) it freezes. The only way to fix this is an action replay.

That could only happen if you were using Action Replay. I use Action Replay on my DS game Explorers Of Darkness, and I was a female Torchic, and then when i put in Action Replay, I changed into a boy, too. xP Oh well. Anyways, as far as I'm concerned, you can't fix it, at least immediately. Either deal with being a boy, or wait until you turn female again and then save and take out Action Replay. That's my advice. ^ - ^
