Yes. Just like in Sims 2 Pets, you can click on the pet to see their needs. But in Sims 3 Pets, you can make them interact with other pets and sims, make them destroy furniture, chew the chew toy, play, eat, sleep, jump up on furniture, hunt, explore, you name it. It is just like controlling a sim, but it is a pet.
