Unity was important before the revolutionary war because unity helped them stay together as one and be able to fight for their independence. Without unity, the colonies would fall apart and independence wouldn't be claimed separately

because before the revolution we as a nation saw that we can be our own country and not have to rely on britain for support so the colony leaders wanted everyone to realize that and fight to become independent from Great Britain

It was important to take a stand against Brittain because King George III was acting like a dictator. Acting like a dictator towards them agitated them, and made them want to take a united stand against Brittain. That's why it was important for the colonies to take a united stand against Brittain.
