The South want to keep slavery so badly because they wanted to be able to have work but they do not pay them, SO the South can make more money to buy more slaves, more lands, so they can pay their taxes. North did not like what the South didn't have to pay for their works. South depended on slavery to growth for their farms, their plantation to be good, If slavery did not happen South will have been worse.
Around the early 1800's the Northerners realized how bad slaves really were to keep. A lot of northerners still though it was fine to have slaves.
they were treated bad
Slaves in the south were treated poorly because they often disobeyed their owners by refusing to work.
The south's economy would plummet. Slave labor was the only means for Southerners to make money. If slaves were taken away from cotton gin factories and large plantations, there would not be any work being done. Therefore, no slaves = no money. no money=bad economy.
If you mean in the past, it would be whether or not the owning of states was a good or bad thing. South wanted slaves, North did not. The Civil War was a result of this disagreement.

Work, no pay. Their pay was to keep their life. They would be laughed at, mocked, and shunned. If a slave did something wrong, they would get beaten. I think they got food, but bad food.
Kuzz slavery's baddd...
help if you want good karma or catch if you want bad karma
There are a few reasons. One is that the south wanted to break away from the union due to the north wanting to keep trade in the country when goods where cheaper over seas to buy. This was to keep money in our country. Another reason was the controversy over slavery which the north mostly abolished, and the south relying heavily on. It got so bad that Lincoln said any state loyal to the union may keep they're slaves, and rebelling states must free them. This was to keep the states stuck between the north, and south which had slaves, but where loyal to the union with the union.
The South tried to finance the war by making more cotton. This was bad for the slaves because that meant that they would have to world harder.
If you meant what DO slaves do at night, they travel on the underground railroad to the Confederate States of America (South, the bad guys) to the United States of America (north, the good guys)
Some slaves thought they would be free if they worked hard, but their masters would just keep them if they worked well. If they were bad their master would kill them, so no, the slaves were not really free.
the fact that the north thought it was bad to have slaves and the south thought it was good so the south started attacking the north.
