At dawn of Apr.19, 1775, when the British detachment sent by Gen. Thomas Gage to destroy the military depot at Concord and capture John Hancock and Samuel Adams, found 70 minutemen commanded by Capt. John Parker at Lexington, deployed to face them. The British opened first fire and the first battle of the American Revolutionary War began.

At Lexington, a shot was fired and the Revolutionary War began. To this day, no one knows who fired that shot, the British or the Colonists.
