1912 is considered a common date unless it has an "S" mintmark on the reverse.

See the picture here for location of the "S" :

http://coins.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=1136&Lot_No=504

Without any mintmark :

well-worn = $1

lightly worn = $20

uncirculated = $45

With a "D" mintmark :

well-worn = $2

lightly worn = $50

uncirculated = $200

With an "S" mintmark :

well-worn = $120

lightly worn = $600

uncirculated = $1,000
