A lot of them lost their saving when the Stock Market crashed in 1929, because the banks invested most of the veterans’ saving into the then-was prosperous and rewarding stock market in hope of making profit. The veteran’s saving vaporized when the stock market crashed, because banks bought the stocks and the stocks’ price fell to nearly nothing.

There are several ways to earn money in the Stock Market, but it's important to remember that the stock market carries inherent risks and there is no surefire way to consistently earn money. Here are a few strategies that people use to try to earn money in the stock market:

Buy low, sell high: This is perhaps the most basic strategy for earning money in the stock market. The idea is to buy stocks that are undervalued, hold onto them until their price increases, and then sell them for a profit.

Dividend investing: Some companies pay out a portion of their profits to shareholders in the form of dividends. By investing in dividend-paying stocks, you can earn a regular income from your investments.

Day trading: Day traders buy and sell stocks within the same trading day, attempting to earn profits from short-term price fluctuations. Day trading can be risky and requires a lot of time and attention.

Long-term investing: This involves buying and holding onto stocks for an extended period of time, with the hope that they will increase in value over the years. Long-term investing can be a less risky strategy, but it also means that you will need to be patient and wait for your investments to appreciate.

It's important to keep in mind that there are no guarantees when it comes to the stock market, and it's possible to lose money as well as make it. It's always a good idea to do your own research and consult with a financial professional before making any investment decision.

The stock market crash of 1929 and the subsequent onset of the Great Depression had significant impacts on the economy and the lives of Americans, including veterans. Here are a few ways in which veterans were affected:

  1. Unemployment: The Great Depression led to high levels of unemployment across the country, affecting millions of people, including veterans. Many veterans struggled to find work due to the lack of job opportunities and competition for jobs.

  2. Decrease in benefits: As the economy struggled, the government was forced to cut back on spending, including funding for veterans' benefits. This meant that some veterans lost access to healthcare, pensions, and other forms of support that they relied on.

  3. Homelessness: The economic downturn led to an increase in homelessness across the country, and veterans were particularly vulnerable given their limited resources and potential struggles with physical and mental health issues resulting from their military service.

  4. Migration: Some veterans were forced to move in search of work or more favorable economic conditions, leading to significant population shifts across the country.

Overall, the Great Depression had a far-reaching impact on the country and its citizens, and veterans were no exception. Many struggled to make ends meet and access the support they needed in the wake of economic hardship.

The stock market crash of 1929 had a devastating impact on veterans of World War I, many of whom had invested their savings and veterans' benefits in the stock market. Many veterans lost their savings and were unable to pay for necessities like food, housing, and healthcare. The crash also led to widespread unemployment, which affected veterans disproportionately as they were often less educated and less skilled than the general population. Additionally, veterans who had been disabled during the war were often unable to find work due to their injuries. The economic hardship caused by the stock market crash led to widespread poverty and homelessness among veterans, and many were forced to rely on government assistance programs to survive.

When the stock market crashed in 1929, many of them lost their savings because the banks had put the majority of the veterans' savings into the market, which at the time was thriving and lucrative.
