A quarter from 1789 does not exist, the first one was made in 1796 and if you look under the AIRPLANE the date is 2001, spend it.

It's not possible to be sure without seeing the item, but your "quarter" may actually be an advertising giveaway that was handed out by a gasoline company about 35 or 40 years ago. There were millions of them so they really don't have much collector value today, unfortunately.
