The Bull Moose Party's death started with the election of 1912. The Bull Moose Party had many of the same beliefs of the Republican party and so split the vote, leading to a democratic victory. After the national loss, they kept putting Bull Moose candidates on ballots in state and local elections, but they pretty much stopped winning any elections after 1914.
A couple of reasons. TR waited too late to form the party so he got a late start in running as the 3rd party presidential candidate. The second reason is that 3rd parties never have done well in elections. They are not given the same amount of coverage by the press nor are the people who are in the elections as third party candidates considered for debates or other things. Who was the Green candidate for president in 08? None of us know.
The Bull Moose After Party was created in 2005.
After Theodore Roosevelt failed to win the Republican Party Presidential Nomination in 1912, he formed the Progressive Party, which also became known as the Bull Moose Party because the Bull Moose was a nickname of Theodore Roosevelt.
Roosevelt was a candidate for the Progressive's Bull Moose Party.
