The Seminoles had more than one uprising. The first conflict occurred 1814-1819 while James Monroe was President. The second Seminole War began late in Andrew Jackson;s second term when the government attempted to move the Seminoles out of Florida. It continued through all of Martin Van Buren's term and finally died down after William Harrison and John Tyler took office. James Buchanan was president during what might be called the third and last Seminole war.

The Seminole Wars took place from 1816 until 1858. Presidents during this time were James Madison, James Monroe, John Quincy Adams, Andrew Jackson, Martin Van Buren, William Henry Harrison, John Tyler, James K. Polk, Zachary Taylor, Millard Fillmore, Franklin Pierce, James Buchanan, and Abraham Lincoln.
During the trail of tears, John Quincy Adams was president. And James Madison was the prsedent during the Seminole Wars.
Andrew Jackson
There was no war with foreign countries. The Second Seminole War with the Florida Indians went on while Van Buren was President.
Arkansas and Michigan became states while he was President, but you would probably give him more credit for adding Florida, which he wrested from Spanish control during the Seminole War.

Osceola (1804 - January 30, 1838) was an influential leader with the Seminole in Florida. Osceola led a small band of warriors in the Seminole resistance during the Second Seminole War when the United States tried to remove the Seminoles from their lands. He exercised a great deal of influence on Micanopy, the highest-ranking chief of the Seminoles
In 1817, during the First Seminole War, it was General Andrew Jackson who, charged by President Monroe with the mission of destroying the Native threat, took to the offense against the Seminoles in the Spanish territory of Florida in a violent and successful manner. Among other victories achieved by his direct command or at his orders, Jackson oversaw the conquest of both Pensacola and Fort Gadsden (in present-day Franklin County, Florida) during this conflict.
Andrew Jackson was the seventh president. He served from 1829 to 1837. During Jackson's terms Osceola led a Seminole uprising called the "Second Seminole War". Osceola was captured and died in jail less than a year later.
