Yes Big Brother Is On 24 Hours A Day And We Are Watching You Now
The term "big brother" is a reference to the famous novel "1984" by George Orwell. The novel depicts a highly dictatorial and insane society which is modelled after Stalinist Russia, and which has the motto "Big Brother is watching you!" to remind people that their government is always watching them.
The posters in Winston's building in the book "1984" display the face of Big Brother with the caption "BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU." This slogan serves as a reminder to the citizens of Oceania that they are constantly being monitored by the Party.
