Current U.S. Military personnel wear a nametape or nameplate just above the right breast pocket when wearing dress or battle dress uniforms. This does not follow suit for U.S. Military aviators, who are typically seen in a one piece flightsuit. Aviators wear a leather or cloth patch just above their left breast. These are generally velcro backed to allow easy removal.
The name tape goes on the RIGHT SIDE, the same on the DRESS Uniform. U.S.ARMY on the LEFT. Just think about your Dress Uniform, all your Ribbons, Marksman Badges, etc ALWAYS go on the LEFT, over your HEART! Hope it helped
