This year, there will first be a private ceremony, where the Chief Justice will administer the oath of office, on Sunday January 20th 2013. But the public ceremony will be held the next day, on the west front steps of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC. This is the oath the President will take: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
