A lot of the weapons systems in use today were in use in the 1980s, but without the current upgrades. The M16 rifle was in use, albeit it was A1 and A2 models. The 4.2 inch mortars were in use, and have since been replaced by 120mm mortars. The M60 was the primary general purpose machine gun of the time, and has since been replaced with the M240. The M47 Dragon Anti-Tank Guided Weapon has been replaced with the Javelin system, and the M72 LAW rockets are fully phased out in favour of the M134 (AT4).
You need to specify an era or conflict. There have been many changes in the standard armaments of the US military during its military history, and it's simply not feasible to compile a list of all weapons used throughout the existence of the US.
The US employed ALL OF IT'S CONVENTIONAL military assets in conventional and unconventional warfare in the Vietnam War. "Atomic" weapons and "Chemical/Biological" weapons were the only assets not used.
Issued weapons only; for all branches of the US military.
Yes. They hold weapons to protect us from bad guys. It is okay for police officers and military soldiers to hold weapons.
Plenty of weapons were used, but no world war occurred nor were nuclear weapons used in any of the wars that occurred. The cold war was a very strange political and propagandawar between the US & USSR, that included no direct military conflict between them.
From 1945 until the late 1970s or early 1980s the United States always had the most nuclear weapons. After then the USSR/Russia has had the most nuclear weapons.
No, they did not.
Secured. and all over the World.
So they can defeat their enemies and protect us.
they are pethetic without the help of america. palestinens die every day from the us weapons
Actually all 3 major branches of the military ( Air Force, Army, Navy with Marines) have nuclear weapons. So it isn't depended upon which branch you are in but what your duties are.
Aircraft Carriers, Battleships, and Cruisers, in that order.
