He did not attend high school. At the time there was no such thing as "high school". Most boys were either apprenticed out to a tradesman to learn a trade, or learned their father's trade from him, or perhaps, if their families were wealthy enough, might be taught by private tutors.

He didn't. At the time there was no such thing as "high school". Most boys were either apprenticed out to a tradesman to learn a trade, or learned their father's trade from him, or perhaps, if their families were weathy enough, might be taught by private tutors.

In Jefferson's case, at about the age that most students today would start high school he began studying with the Reverend James Maury, who operated a small private school. At the age of 16, he left there to begin studies at the College of William and Mary, where he spent two more years finishing his studies there.

After leaving William and Mary, he read law while working for the lawyer (and law professor at William and Mary) George Wythe. Five years later he was admitted to the Virginia Bar.

Elementary schools did not exist yet however, this is what you were looking forEducationIn 1752, Jefferson began attending a local school run by William Douglas, a Scottish minister. At the age of nine, Jefferson began studying Latin, Greek, and French. In 1757, when he was 14 years old, his father died. Jefferson inherited about 5,000 acres (20 km²) of land and dozens of slaves. He built his home there, which eventually became known as Monticello.

Where did Thomas Jefferson go to school after high school?

There's a bit of a tricky part here, because Thomas Jefferson didn't go to "high school." "High school" didn't exist at the time. He was tutored privately, and at the age of 16 began studies at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg VA. He finished in two years, so by the time most "high school" students of today are graduating, Jefferson had a college degree.
